ECU File: Process Your Own ECU Tuning File with Software
An ECU file is the software file read from the vehicle's engine control unit. EcuPrime is ECU remapping and chiptuning software: you upload the original file you read with your own tool, the software identifies the ECU from the file itself and enables only the operations that apply to your file. The pre-check is free.
Basics
What is an ECU file? ORI and MOD
Original file (ORI)
The unmodified ECU software read from the control unit. This is what you upload; keep a backup before any operation.
Modified file (MOD)
The file with your selected operation applied. The software produces it from your own original file; you download the result and write it to the vehicle with your own tool.
Reading tool
You read the file from the control unit and write it back yourself. The software looks at the file itself, not the reading tool.
Operations
What you can do with your ECU file here
Not all of them open on every file: the software enables only the operations that apply to yours.
Operations on emission systems are offered only for use permitted by local law (e.g. off-road / motorsport / export); responsibility lies with the user.

Select
The system detects the ECU from the file and enables only genuinely applicable solutions
Process
The solution is verified at hex level and applied
Download & Checksum
Credit is charged only on successful delivery. The checksum is corrected in a separate tab with the built-in PrimeChecksum.

Brands
ECU files by brand (A–Z)
Each brand page lists that brand's control units and the operations with verified solutions in the library.

Let the software do the file
A program does the whole chiptuning file job: upload your original ECU file; the system identifies the ECU from the file, opens only the verified solutions that fit it and applies your choice byte by byte. The pre-check is free.
Help
Frequently asked questions
What is an ECU file?
It is the software file read from the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU). It is read with a reading tool; the unmodified version is the original (ORI) file and the version with an operation applied is the modified (MOD) file.
How is a modified ECU tuning file made?
The flow has three steps: upload the file, choose the operation, download your file. The software enables only the operations that fit your file; one that does not fit is not applied. Writing the file to the vehicle and, where needed, correcting the checksum remain your steps.
Which file should I upload?
The original (raw) file you read from the ECU with your own tool. The ECU is identified from the file itself; if it is not recognised, the panel asks you to select the vehicle type, make and ECU yourself. The pre-check is free.
Which operations are available?
Stage 1, DPF Off, EGR Off, AdBlue / SCR Off, Full Emission Off, Stage 2, DTC Off, Vmax Off, Decat / Catalyst Off, Lambda / O2 Off, TVA Off, Swirl Flaps Off, Pop & Bang, E85 Flex-Fuel, Start & Stop Off, Immo Off, Torque Limiter Off, Stage 3, Gearbox (TCU) Calibration. Not all of them open on every file; the software enables only the operations that apply to yours.
Is the checksum done automatically?
The checksum is not corrected automatically in the delivered file. Checksum correction happens inside the platform, in a separate tab: 1 credit, charged only when the result is ready. Some newer-generation ECUs (RSA-signed) need an external tool; the system detects this and warns you.
How is the price calculated?
A module job costs 1 credit (any number of modules in one job); Stage 1 costs 2 credits for cars/bikes and 3 credits for trucks, tractors and construction machines. No credit is charged for a job without a result. A package is bought once and renewed every year with the annual licence. The pre-check is free.
